Notes
I replaced the “Conditions” button image with a near real-time Planetary K-Index (Kp). It updates every 5 minutes with the last 5 minute observed Kp. It is not a forecast value. The background changes color depending on the severity of the Kp. Clicking the button still opens the hamqsl.com conditions & solar images window.
Map View Filters can now be hidden/minimized, giving more room for those with smaller desktops.
6 character Maidenhead locators aka MH6 is now only available in Pin mode. We have received way too many support issues where users have entered into MH6 and “lost” all their grids not knowing that they were still there, just small. Unfortunately, this caused a shift in the button positions when in Grid mode.

I have multi-threaded the log loading and parsing, we now support over 450,000 QSO in memory with little to no lag once they have been parsed. The ‘Clear Log’ button is removed while we are processing logs in the background. It can take some time to parse large log files, be patient.
Unfortunately the Australian license database provided by the Australian government no longer provides a list of amateur callsigns, so we removed support for it.
This is a point release of all the work this year, there are many things still in the pipeline including the alert system refactor. Enough has changed that we feel it’s worth it.
Special Note
We are aware that GridTracker is not working on a Raspberry Pi 5 using Raspian distribution. A recent update of Raspian for Pi 4 is also reporting issues. We recommend you use the Ubuntu Pi distribution.
We want to thank K8ZM for discovering an anomaly in our QSO hashing function and bringing it to our attention before we released 0504 to a wider audience.
